I wrote ‘Wanted’ last summer during my trip to Nashville. I just got out of a relationship and was single for the first time in almost five years. I enjoyed the attention and flirting process, it was nice to feel wanted and get some validation, but I also had this wall around me. I had just found out how much love can hurt when it ends and wasn’t ready to open myself up to it again. It takes time to heal. Sometimes you just want to have fun and keep a safe distance.
It takes a superhero kind of courage to jump in fearlessly. Sometimes you just want to have all the good without the hurt.
